NuCalm Public Safety Division and SWORN.ai Partner to Bring Real-Time Nervous System Regulation Support to Public Safety Professionals
Integration connects SWORN’s biometric and mission-aware AI platform with NuCalm’s patented neuroscience technology to help first responders move from stress detection to actionable recovery support
September 9, 2026
NuCalm’s Public Safety Division and SWORN.ai today announced a strategic partnership designed to provide public safety professionals with timely, actionable nervous system regulation and recovery support informed by real-world operational and biometric data.
The partnership brings together two technologies built around a shared objective: helping the people who protect our communities remain healthy, resilient, and ready to perform.
SWORN is an AI-powered health and wellness platform purpose-built for public safety professionals. The platform combines biometric information, workload and operational context, including dispatch and call-for-service data, and mission-aware artificial intelligence to identify patterns associated with stress, fatigue, sleep disruption, recovery, and readiness. Its AI platform, HOWARD, can then deliver private, personalized support based on what an individual is experiencing.
NuCalm provides the next critical component: an immediate, practical tool public safety professionals can use to help regulate their nervous systems and support recovery.
Through the partnership, SWORN and NuCalm are developing workflows that allow relevant SWORN triggers to surface specific NuCalm recommendations based on operational events and wellness indicators. For example, following a high-impact call, HOWARD can recommend a NuCalm Rescue session. Indicators associated with sleep deprivation, elevated stress, or reduced readiness can similarly prompt appropriate NuCalm recovery or sleep-support protocols.
The objective is simple: turn insight into action at the moment it can matter most.
“Public safety has no shortage of wellness resources. The challenge has always been getting the right resource in front of the right person at the right time,” said Sean Bair, Co-Founder and CEO of SWORN.ai. “By integrating NuCalm into the SWORN ecosystem, we can go beyond identifying that someone may be experiencing elevated stress, inadequate sleep, or diminished recovery. We can connect them with an actionable tool designed to help them regulate and recover. That is exactly the kind of practical innovation we believe public safety deserves.”
SWORN’s technology is designed around the realities of public safety rather than traditional consumer wellness models. The platform can incorporate biometric information from major wearable platforms alongside schedules, workload, and operational context to create a more complete picture of individual readiness. HOWARD analyzes biometric, behavioral, and contextual information to provide scenario-based guidance while maintaining individual privacy. Agency leadership sees aggregated, anonymized readiness information, not an individual’s private health data.
NuCalm’s integration adds nervous system regulation as an actionable component of that ecosystem.
Instead of simply notifying a user that stress is elevated or suggesting a general wellness activity, an appropriate trigger can direct an activated NuCalm user toward a specific intervention, such as Rescue, PowerNap, or Deepest Sleep, based on the circumstances. Educational resources can also help users understand why an intervention is being recommended and how to use it effectively. The two organizations are refining the integration workflow and trigger mapping collaboratively.
“After nearly four decades in law enforcement, I know that telling an officer they are stressed isn’t enough. They need resources that make sense for the realities of the job and that they can actually use,” said Jeff Spivey, Vice President of Business Development at SWORN.ai and retired Chief of Police. “NuCalm gives us another powerful option within SWORN to help turn the intelligence we’re gathering into meaningful action. When our platform recognizes the circumstances where nervous system regulation may be beneficial, we want to make it easier for that officer to access the right support.”
For NuCalm’s Public Safety Division, the partnership represents an important advancement in its broader Nervous System Regulation Training (NSRT™) initiative by helping move nervous system regulation from something personnel must remember to use into a resource that can be surfaced contextually when it may be most relevant.
“This partnership helps solve one of the biggest challenges we face in public safety wellness: intervention often depends on the individual recognizing what is happening physiologically and remembering what resource to use,” said Ryan Layne, President of NuCalm’s Public Safety Division and Founder of NSRT™. “SWORN can help recognize the signals. NuCalm gives that officer an actionable tool to respond. If someone comes off a critical incident, is showing sustained stress, hasn’t slept adequately, or is struggling with recovery, the goal is to meet them in that moment with something they can actually do. That’s where I believe this partnership can make a meaningful difference.”
The organizations are currently mapping NuCalm interventions to SWORN’s existing trigger architecture and evaluating additional triggers where nervous system regulation may provide meaningful support. The integration is designed to evolve as the organizations evaluate utilization and outcomes.
The partnership also expands access to NuCalm education within the SWORN ecosystem, allowing public safety professionals to better understand nervous system regulation, recovery, and the role physiology plays in performance under pressure.
From Detection to Intervention
The collaboration reflects a larger shift occurring across public safety wellness: moving from reactive programs toward proactive, technology-enabled support.
SWORN provides the intelligence layer capable of understanding operational context alongside biometric and behavioral patterns. NuCalm provides an intervention layer designed to help users actively regulate and recover.
Together, the companies intend to create a more connected model in which data identifies the need, intelligent technology helps determine the appropriate response, and the individual is given an actionable resource when it matters.
